Assemblage (Blend)
Cabernet Sauvignon: 74%
Carménère: 19%
Cabernet Franc: 5%
Petit Verdot: 2%
Vintage Conditions
The winter was extremely dry, with only 119 mm of rainfall from June to September 2022 in Puente Alto, 41% below the historical average.
However, rainfall was higher than the previous year, which recorded only 51 mm during the same period.
The winter was irregular, alternating between mild and cold conditions, with budbreak occurring at normal timing due to warmer October temperatures.
Spring was dry, with only 7 mm of rainfall between October and December, and temperatures fluctuated during flowering and fruit set, causing some coulure in Cabernet Sauvignon.
The summer was extremely hot, with temperatures averaging 2°C above historical norms and the hottest March ever recorded in Chile.
April and May also remained warmer than usual, accelerating ripening.
Harvest began early, with Cabernet Sauvignon picked on March 13 (8 days earlier than 2022 and 2 weeks earlier than average).
Harvest ended April 24 in Puente Alto, while Carménère from Peumo was harvested between April 25 and May 5.
This vintage maintains the fresh character of Puente Alto despite the heat, producing a well-structured wine with strong Cabernet Sauvignon expression.
Winemaking & Aging
Aged for 20 months in French oak barrels (73% new).
Early harvesting ensured preservation of acidity and freshness despite extreme heat conditions.
