Food & Wine Pairings
OUR ENGAGEMENTS
Exceptional sweet wines
Four reasons stand out for designing the exceptional Bonnezeaux of Château de Fesles. The first is characterized by the grape variety: the natural acidity of Chenin balances the wine. Next comes the magical place, the fourth highest point in Anjou. After the harvest, the raisining begins, necessary to concentrate the grapes in sugar. Finally, the shale terroir: it retains rainwater and maintains freshness favoring natural acidity.
A true communion with nature
Since the 2022 vintage, all our vintages have been certified organic: a strong commitment to the future. Of course, the harvest is carried out by hand for better sorting and selection of the berries. Our teams are constantly looking for the best balance, while striving to respect nature and the grapes. This symbiosis with the terroir allows the making of wines renowned “without equal elsewhere”...
A unique heritage preserved
Since the beginning of its history, the Château de Fesles has taken great care of its vine plants, the origin of Bonnezeaux, this sweet wine which has made the Château famous. The Château archives even mention that the Bonnezeaux vintage was cited in 1055 by the monks of Gué de Berge. In 1991, the property was restored. Since then, the quality of its facilities has made it a benchmark in Anjou, and one of the most recognized properties in the region.
