Cultivated in the Iberian Peninsula since the Middle Ages and preserved by genetic selection at the Sueca Rice Station (Valencia) since 1929. The production of Bomba rice is limited due to the delicacy of its cultivation. For many years, the cultivation and production of this variety seemed extinct, but our company has always opted for Bomba rice , producing it from its foundation to the present day.
It is a short grain variety and has a pearly color. Its size is equivalent to that of round rice, sometimes even smaller, but Bomba multiplies more than twice its size when cooked.
Its main characteristics are its great capacity to absorb flavors and aromas , and that it always remains at its point, loose and whole.
These culinary excellences mean that it is considered one of the best rice in the world by expert cooks and that it receives the name “King of Rice”. The gourmet rice par excellence, we can find it in the best delicatessen establishments in the world.
Especially suitable for paellas, Abanda rice, etc., although it can also be used for creamy and soupy rice.

Under the Santo Tomás brand we only package the native Valencian varieties, Bomba, Albufera and Bahía-Senia Type .
