Saga R Bordeaux Blanc 2023

Object of all the care of winegrowers, the Bordeaux vineyard is unanimous on one point: it produces wines that are both fresh and elegant, which, while being testimonies of great culture and unique civilization, do not remain less easy drinks.

The Bordeaux Blanc de la Collection, made from Sauvignon and Sémillon, explodes in freshness on the palate, awakens simple emotions, lives and vibrates like wines which, beyond the most advanced viticultural technology, decline the score of pleasure on all registers. Sémillon is favored to register this cuvée in the style of R de Rieussec (dry white wine from Château Rieussec).

2016 is a remarkable vintage in Bordeaux, both in quantity and quality, reminiscent of the mythical 1990! The year was quite complicated to manage for the winegrowers, with a very wet start to the cycle (800 mm of rainfall over the first 6 months of the year), a very dry period from the 1st July to September 13, finally localized thunderstorms and a beautiful Indian summer, which finally allowed perfect ripeness to be reached. The red wines are rich, suave, fruity, with a maturity of tannins rarely reached and very deep colors. The hot nights of the second half of August were less favorable to the white grape varieties. Nevertheless, on the coolest terroirs of Entre-deux-Mers, where our whites are selected, the degree/acidity balance is perfect and the aromas more exuberant.

Colour: Pale, shiny straw.

Nose: Fine and aromatic, mixing citrus notes (grapefruit, lime) with aromas of exotic fruits (passion fruit).

Mouth: Fresh, lively and flattering, very aromatic, ending with exotic notes.

Decanting: Just before serving

Serving temperature: 10-12°C
