How and why we use personal data

We collect information directly from you and may receive relevant information from Shopify, payment providers, couriers, suppliers, business references, analytics services and other service providers. We process personal data when necessary to respond to your request, perform or prepare a transaction, comply with law, pursue a legitimate business purpose that does not override your rights, protect vital interests, or act on valid consent where consent is required.

We use personal data to:

  • respond to enquiries and sourcing requests;
  • review availability, allocation, price, delivery and eligibility;
  • create, invoice, collect, deliver, service, amend, cancel, return or refund orders;
  • administer accounts, memberships and trade accreditation;
  • detect fraud and secure the website and transactions;
  • maintain tax, accounting, audit and legal records;
  • improve the catalogue, search, website and customer service;
  • send transactional messages and, with any permission required, marketing messages; and
  • establish, exercise or defend legal claims and respond to lawful requests.

Cookies and similar technologies

Our Shopify storefront and service providers use essential technologies for security, cart, checkout, accounts and website operation. Depending on the tools enabled and your choices, we may also use functional, analytics or advertising technologies. Use the privacy or cookie controls presented on the website and your browser settings to manage non-essential technologies. Blocking essential cookies can prevent parts of the website from working.

When we disclose personal data

We disclose only information reasonably needed by Shopify and storefront providers; payment processors and banks; couriers, warehousing and fulfilment partners; recognized suppliers or sourcing partners; email, messaging, support, analytics and technology providers; professional advisers and insurers; and government, regulatory or judicial authorities when disclosure is required or permitted by law.

We do not sell personal data for money. Third-party websites, payment services, social networks and messaging platforms have their own privacy notices and are responsible for their independent processing.

International processing

Shopify and some service providers may process personal data outside the Philippines. We use reasonable contractual, organizational and technical measures intended to protect personal data under our control when it is processed by service providers or across borders.

Retention

We keep personal data only as long as reasonably necessary for the stated purpose and applicable legal, tax, accounting, fraud-prevention and dispute requirements. Transaction and invoice records are retained for the period required by law. Enquiries that do not become transactions are generally retained for up to two years after the last substantive contact. Membership and trade records may be retained for the relationship and a reasonable period afterward. Marketing records are retained until you opt out, consent is withdrawn where applicable, or continued retention is no longer justified.

When retention is no longer justified, we securely delete, anonymize or restrict the data as appropriate.

Security

We use reasonable organizational, physical and technical measures intended to protect personal data from accidental or unlawful loss, alteration, disclosure, access or misuse. No internet transmission or storage system is completely secure. Protect your account credentials and contact us promptly if you suspect unauthorized activity.

Your rights

Subject to the Data Privacy Act of 2012, its implementing rules and lawful limitations, you may have rights to be informed, access personal data, object to certain processing, correct inaccurate data, request erasure or blocking, obtain data portability, withdraw consent where processing relies on consent, claim damages where legally available and lodge a complaint with the National Privacy Commission.

To exercise a right, email barrelsandbeyondph@gmail.com with the subject “Privacy Request,” describe the request and identify the relevant account, order or interaction. We may verify identity and authority before disclosing or changing personal data.

Children and alcoholic products

Our services are not directed to children. Alcoholic products are not sold to persons under 18. We may refuse or cancel a transaction and request age identification where reasonably necessary.
