1965 42 YEAR OLD SINGLE MALT SCOTCH WHISKY
The vintage 42 year old expression began life in 1965 when it was filled into American oak barrels before resting for 42 years at the lowland distillery warehouse near Glasgow.
Incredibly well-aged single malt from the Auchentoshan distillery in the Lowland region. This expression was distilled in 1965 and matured in bourbon barrels for 42 years! One to savour, for sure.
TASTING NOTES
TO THE EYE
Golden barley in colour.
TO THE NOSE
Very waxy, hints of juicy pear, lime and lemon scented candles. Leathery notes. A little vanilla as well with soft herbs, blending with a slightly sour touch of oak.
TO THE TONGUE
Pleasantly fresh, with similar citrus notes, pear peelings, leather and soft herbal honey. A little mint, hints of green tea. Some biscuity notes and cinnamon towards the end. Light tobacco.
TO THE END
Mild but not very long, rather honeyed, with eucalyptus and just a whiff of toasted oak.
