The 2016 growing season was marked by a warm, dry summer. Harvest began at the end of August with grapes in excellent condition, showing full phenolic maturity together with a strong balance between sugar and acidity.

Château de Beaucastel lies in the northern part of the Châteauneuf-du-Pape appellation. The estate forms a large contiguous vineyard whose soils combine rolled pebbles at the surface with clay, sand and limestone at depth.
