This is the superb entry level red from the excellent Paso Robles producer, Daou Vineyards. The 2018 is composed of 78% Cabernet Sauvignon, 13% Merlot, 8% Petit Verdot and 1% Cabernet Franc aged for 11 months in 60% new French oak. Deep, rich and plush, it is awash with notes of blackcurrant, blackberry, plum, cedar and smoked herbs. This is a classy and complex wine that punches well above its weight.
