The Vision of Krug Grande Cuvée

Founded in 1843 by Joseph Krug, Maison Krug set out to create the most generous expression of Champagne every year, regardless of variations in climate. Krug Grande Cuvée embodies that philosophy by blending wines from multiple years to achieve extraordinary richness and complexity.

Each edition combines a base harvest with reserve wines from the house’s extensive library, allowing Krug to craft a Champagne that transcends the character of a single vintage.

The 172ème Édition

Krug Grande Cuvée 172ème Édition is composed around the harvest of 2016, complemented by reserve wines from many earlier years carefully preserved in the Krug cellars.

The blend integrates the three classic Champagne grape varieties—Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, and Pinot Meunier—each contributing freshness, structure, and aromatic complexity.

Tasting Notes

The bouquet reveals aromas of citrus fruits, ripe apple, toasted brioche, hazelnut, and delicate floral notes. Hints of almond and pastry add depth.
