FROM THE CORK TO YOU
Within our Laphroaig 10 Year Old Cask Strength whiskies, Batch 14 holds a particularly grand weight to convey its divergent, yet familiar taste. Tempered through the land, sea, and air of Islay with an unyielding vigor, Batch 14 allows for a flavoursome communication from glass through cork to you.
Deliverance of this Batch 14 whisky, its ingredients melded together by our patient use of time, is characterized by a 58.6% vol cask strength and emits its sweetness and spice, a nicety of hard labour. The nose will fill with the aroma of leather, pipe tobacco, and vanilla when this dram is pour neat, and the palate pleased with the overwhelming notes of cinnamon, toffee, and fudge. Do it a mark better when a few splashes of water are added to the whisky – the undertones of sea salt and peat smoke reveal themselves in the flavor.
TASTING NOTES
COLOUR
Its vibrant tawny colour reflects the full strength of this whisky, hinting at the complex notes drawn from the charred oak.
NOSE
The nuanced aroma reveals whiffs of sweet cereals, fresh oak and pipe tobacco with touches of leather, nutmeg and vanilla.
PALATE
The Original Cask Strength is sweet and spicy with notes of vanilla, toffee and sea salt along with hints of cinnamon and pepper.
FINISH
Long finish with lingering spice, oak tannins, iodine and sea salt.
MATURATION
This single malt ages in charred ex-Bourbon barrels for ten years before being bottled at natural cask strength.
