Vintage Conditions

The 2020 vintage was marked by climatic disruptions and continued drought conditions.

Rainfall deficit reached 72% below historical averages, requiring early irrigation.

Temperatures were higher than average, accelerating vine growth and harvest timing.

Spring experienced frost events in September and October, impacting yields.

Heat waves throughout the season required careful canopy and irrigation management.

The harvest began 10 days earlier than usual and was completed parcel by parcel with strict selection.

Despite challenges, fruit quality remained excellent with concentrated character and balanced acidity.

Winemaking & Aging

Maceration: 28 days

Fermentation: 100% in stainless steel tanks

Temperature: 24–28°C

Aging:

• 60% aged 14 months in French oak barrels (2nd & 3rd use)

• 40% aged in stainless steel tanks

Bottling: September 2021

Aging Potential: 8 years

Color: Ruby red with dark purple edges

Nose: Ripe red fruit with spices and black fruit hints

Palate: Elegant and balanced with round tannins and fruit-driven mid-palate

Finish: Long, pleasant, and harmonious

Elevation: 185–430 meters above sea level

Soil: Granitic and granodioritic origin with sandy to clay textures and quartz gravel

Climate: Semi-dry Mediterranean with long dry summers and winter rainfall

Geography: Horseshoe-shaped valley with river cooling influence and mountain protection

Yield: 55 hL/ha

Harvest: March 2 to April 14

Production: 12,039 cases (9L equivalent)
