The Oracle is an exceptionally balanced, full-bodied red blend made from grapes grown at Stagecoach Vineyard in the eastern hills of Napa Valley. In Greek mythology, the oracle was a source of inspiration and revelation. Our flagship wine, a full-bodied, single vineyard red blend, grants a nod toward elegance. This Bordeaux-style blend is silky, reserved and supremely balanced. Lush aromatics of raspberry and dark cherry with a hint of eucalyptus, The Oracle is decadent, but with finesse. Earthiness and layers of dried flowers and cocoa integrate harmoniously into a finely balanced marriage between tannin and acid, providing the structure that ensures, like all impeccable beauties, this wine is sure to age gracefully.

VINTAGE NOTES
This near perfect growing season began in late February. Temperatures remained consistent and warm throughout the growing and ripening season without significant heat spikes, enabling a longer-than-usual harvest. Quantity and quality were both abundant in 2018, with many vineyards producing yields of up to 40% more than recent averages.

The flagship 2016 Red Blend The Oracle is a blend of 59% Cabernet Sauvignon, 19% Cabernet Franc, 17% Merlot, and the balance Malbec and Petit Verdot. It’s slightly deeper colored than the Oakville Cabernet and gives up plenty of red and black fruits, spicy oak, tobacco, and graphite. A big step up on the richness scale, it still has beautiful purity and elegance as well as fine tannins, terrific balance, and a great finish. Drink it any time over the coming two decades.
