Grown on the Upper Rhine plain, the Basel Black Cherry is considered one of the best in the world. They ripen on trees with high branches that pepper the countryside around Basel. Maison Ponthier selected this variety for its purées because it guarantees a wonderful sweet and fruity flavour as well as a dazzling purple colour.
