Tenute Rossetti Governo all’Uso Toscano Rosso Toscana IGT

Tuscan Red Blend · Rich, Supple, and Elegantly Spiced

Tuscany, Italy Rosso Toscana IGT Sangiovese, Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah French Barrique Ageing

Official Description

Tenute Rossetti Governo all’Uso Toscano is a Rosso Toscana IGT from Tuscany made from Sangiovese, Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Syrah. It shows a deep ruby red color with notes of sour cherry and bramble, while the palate is supple and lithe, full of perfumed fruit. The producer also describes it as fine and elegant, with red berry notes, delicate vanilla, good body, soft texture, good tannins, and a long, delicately spiced finish.

Production Area

The wine comes from Central Tuscany. The vineyards are located on steep hills at 430 meters above sea level, with soils characterized by calcareous sandstones, marl, and calcareous flysch mixed with clay. The climate is temperate Mediterranean with frequent sea breezes.

Grape Varieties

Sangiovese 70%, Merlot 20%, Cabernet Sauvignon 5%, Syrah 5%.

Vinification & Ageing

The grapes are hand-harvested in the second half of September, with part of the fruit harvested at the end of October. The two portions are vinified separately with gentle pressing. Maceration lasts for two weeks to favor color and polyphenol extraction, followed by 5 months of ageing in French barriques.

Tasting Notes

Deep ruby red in color. The bouquet is fine and elegant, with notes of sour cherry, bramble, red berries, and delicate vanilla. On the palate, it is supple, soft, and rich, with perfumed fruit, good tannins, and a long, delicately spiced finish.

Food Pairing

The producer recommends pairing it with typical Tuscan dishes, bistecca alla fiorentina, and pasta with meatballs. Its freshness and versatile character also make it suitable throughout the meal.

BBPH pairing ideas: grilled steak, roast meats, hearty pasta dishes, tomato-based ragù, aged cheeses, and charcuterie boards.

Serving Suggestion

Recommended serving temperature: 18°C.
