VINEYARDS:

Foppiano Vineyards has been growing grapes in Sonoma County’s Russian River Valley since 1896, and Lot 96 was crafted to celebrate this long-term legacy. The specific vineyards chosen for this blend produced flavorful wines of Petit Sirah, Zinfandel, Barbara and Mouvedre. To craft the 2014 Petite Sirah, we sourced fruit from our Estate as well as select vineyards throughout the finest growing regions in California.

WINEMAKING:

We believe that seeking out and blending varietal wines that complement each other in flavor, colors and aromas is the pinnacle or inspired winemaking. Each varietal is harvested and fermented individually using the latest techniques to extract complex flavors, pristine aromatics and bold colors. They are blended in just the right proportion to let the best characteristics of each be demonstrated. The finished blend enjoys extra enhanced by the individuals that created it.

TASTING NOTES:

The wine is full of fruit, structure, and acidity. The rich aromas of blackberry, currant and freshly baked blueberry pie mirror the round, full flavors in the mouth with a hint of nutmeg and cedar followed by a long spicy finish.
