Espolòn Tequila Blanco
Unaged and perfectly balanced, with bright agave, tropical fruit, citrus and a clean, lightly spiced finish.
Description
Espolòn Tequila Blanco is an unaged tequila made from 100% Blue Weber Agave. Smooth and balanced, it places fresh agave character at the centre of an expressive profile of tropical fruit, citrus and subtle pepper, followed by vanilla bean and grilled pineapple on the finish.
Produced at Casa San Nicolás in Los Altos de Jalisco, Espolòn Blanco reflects the approach developed by the late Maestro Tequilero Cirilo Oropeza, combining traditional tequila craftsmanship with carefully considered production techniques designed to preserve an agave-forward character.
Its bright, clean style makes it equally suited to sipping neat, serving over ice or using as the foundation for classic tequila cocktails such as the Paloma and Margarita.

Craftsmanship
Espolòn begins with hand-harvested 100% Blue Weber Agave. The agave piñas are steam-cooked in custom-built stainless-steel autoclaves developed to achieve a delicate extraction while balancing fresh and cooked agave character.
After cooking, the piñas are pressed through roller mills to extract the remaining sugars. The spent agave fibre, or bagasse, is repurposed as fertiliser, including for use by local farmers.
During fermentation, Espolòn continues a tradition introduced by Maestro Cirilo Oropeza of playing classical music while the yeast works.
Distillation combines traditional pot stills, which contribute earthier characteristics, with column stills that provide a lighter and fruitier profile. The finest cuts are then selected and blended to create Espolòn's balanced, agave-forward house style.
Espolòn Tequila is distilled and bottled at Casa San Nicolás, NOM 1440, in Los Altos de Jalisco.
The Story Behind the Label
Espolòn's distinctive labels draw inspiration from the work of Mexican artist and printmaker José Guadalupe Posada and use imagery connected to Mexican history and culture.
The Blanco label depicts the revolutionary movement associated with Miguel Hidalgo and Mexico's struggle for independence from Spanish rule. Espolòn's iconic rooster, Ramón, appears within the scene as a symbol of the brand's spirit of pride, rebellion and change.
About Espolòn
Espolòn was created from the vision of the late Maestro Tequilero Cirilo Oropeza. In 1996, Cirilo began building Casa San Nicolás in Los Altos de Jalisco as the home of Espolòn, bringing together longstanding Mexican tequila traditions with his own technical and creative approach to production.
The name Espolòn means “spur” in Spanish, a reference to the spur of the rooster that forms one of the brand's defining symbols. Today, Espolòn continues to produce its tequila at Casa San Nicolás, celebrating Mexican craftsmanship, culture and creative expression.
