Maison Michel Couvreur, now managed by his son-in-law, is an independent Belgian bottler of Scottish whiskey whose aging cellars are located in Bouze-lès-Beaune, in Burgundy.
The Unique Whisky is a blending of malted and un-malted cereals whisky distilled partly by Pot-still and partly by Coffey Still (continuous distillation) in Scotland. After 4 years in oak wood, it has been reduced to 44% alc./vol. with Pentland Hills’ water. Matured partly in Scotland and partly in France, bottled without filtration. Opaline tint. Iodized scent with a hint of almond. Nerve and roundness. The Unique Whiskey is reduced to 44% alcohol with pure Pentland Hills water.
Gourmand, The Unique Whiskey Michel Couvreur is drunk as an aperitif, at low temperature, or even chilled. Light and fine, it is worked to obtain an aperitif whiskey that will not affect the tasting of a wine during the meal.
TASTING NOTES
This whisky has a lively colour with deeper hints. Its first nose brings aromas of salt and almond flower. Then a vanilla character takes over with more fruity notes. On the palate, this whisky is powerful whilst remaining round and ample with lovely persistence. To be enjoyed as an aperitif, served cool, even ice-cold.
