Petra Quercegobbe Toscana Rosso IGT 2023
Official Description
Petra Quercegobbe is a Toscana Rosso IGT from the estate's Quercegobbe vineyard at San Lorenzo Alto, built around Merlot with a smaller proportion of Cabernet Franc.
The official blend comprises 87.5% Merlot and 12.5% Cabernet Franc, producing a concentrated yet polished Tuscan red with generous dark fruit, Mediterranean herbal character and supple tannins.
Ageing in large-format demi-muids followed by concrete allows the wine to develop depth and complexity while retaining freshness and the character of its San Lorenzo Alto terroir.
Quercegobbe Vineyard
Quercegobbe comes from its namesake vineyard in San Lorenzo Alto, part of Petra's estate in Suvereto on the Tuscan Coast.
The vineyard is planted on loamy-sandy soils that are slightly calcareous, conditions particularly suited to Merlot and capable of producing fruit with concentration, richness and freshness.

Why We Love It
Quercegobbe shows a rich and expressive side of coastal Tuscan Merlot, combining concentrated dark fruit with distinctly Mediterranean herbal and savoury nuances.
Blueberry, black cherry and prune are layered with myrtle, rosemary, liquorice and warm spice, while the combination of demi-muid and concrete ageing gives the wine depth without sacrificing freshness.
Its silky tannins and generous texture make it immediately appealing, while its concentration and structure give it enough substance for richer dishes and further cellar development.
