A distinctive Piedmont red from an indigenous variety grown at Scarpa's Acqui Terme vineyard.
Official Producer Profile
Scarpa's technical sheet places the vineyard in Acqui Terme at about 350 metres, with south-west to south-east exposure, sandy-clay soils and vines planted in 1987. Vinification includes 12 days of skin maceration and 20 months of ageing in steel.
Tasting Profile
Deep ruby with iris and geranium, black pepper, nutmeg and violet. Medium-bodied and structured, with fine tannins, lively acidity and a long spicy-floral finish.
