Developed by Domaines Barons de Rothschild (Lafite), Les Légendes R Saint-Emilion comes from a harmonious blend of Merlot and Cabernet Franc.
It is an elegant wine, with a fruity and toasted nose, with a round and balanced mouth, a beautiful signature in this prestigious appellation.
- - 85% Merlot - 15% Cabernet Franc -
2016 was a remarkable vintage for Bordeaux wines, comparable to the legendary 1990 vintage, both in quantity and quality. The mild and rainy winter was followed by a very wet and cold spring which, fortunately, did not harm flowering. The dry and hot summer that followed extended into a pleasant Indian summer punctuated by sufficient rains which allowed the grapes to reach their optimum degree of ripeness. The wines obtained are rich, silky and fruity with particularly ripe tannins and deep colours.
Colour: Deep purple red.
Nose: Elegant and refined wine on the nose, combining toasted and vanilla notes with aromas of blackberries and liquorice.
Mouth: Generous, rich and unctuous, with a silky tannic structure and a nice length on red fruits and graphite.
Tasting temperature: 15-17°C Wine to drink now or keep for 5 to 6 years.
