Macán Clásico 2021 is the more approachable expression of Bodegas Benjamín de Rothschild & Vega Sicilia's Rioja project. Rooted in the Sonsierra beneath the Sierra de Cantabria, it reflects freshness, fruit, liveliness and finesse while retaining depth and complexity.

The producer describes 2021 as an outstanding vintage, with healthy, fresh and very juicy grapes. For the second consecutive year, a field blend included Garnacha bunches alongside Tempranillo.

Above-average rainfall created healthy water reserves. A mild, stable spring favored an even growing cycle, while stable harvest weather allowed fruit to be picked in excellent condition from 19 September to 7 October.

The wine was aged for 12 months in barrel followed by approximately 18 months in bottle before release.

Lively, fresh and elegant, with juicy fruit, finesse, polished structure and a distinctly Sonsierra character.
